General
Do I have to use the shop my insurance company recommends?
Your insurance company may recommend or provide information about repair facilities as part of the claims process. You can ask your insurer about your options and any requirements under your policy. Wherever you choose to have your vehicle repaired, make sure you understand how the repair will be performed, what parts and procedures will be used, and how the work will be documented.
What makes a "Factory Correct" repair different from a standard repair?
A Factory Correct repair starts with the requirements of your specific vehicle and the damage being repaired. That means identifying and following applicable manufacturer repair procedures and using OEM parts, appropriate equipment, repair methods, scans, and calibrations required for the repair. The goal isn't simply to make the vehicle look repaired — it's to address what the vehicle requires beneath the surface as well.
My car looks fine from the outside. Could there still be hidden damage?
Yes. Collision damage isn't always visible from the outside. Depending on where and how the vehicle was hit, damage may affect components, structure, mounting points, sensors, or other systems beneath the visible surface. An appropriate inspection helps determine what was actually affected so the repair plan can be based on the vehicle's condition — not just what can be seen from the outside.
02
Insurance & Estimates
Why can the final repair plan differ from the initial estimate?
An initial estimate may be based primarily on damage that can be identified before the vehicle is disassembled or further inspected. Once damaged components are removed and affected areas become accessible, additional damage or repair requirements may be identified. When that happens, the findings are documented and the repair plan can be updated to reflect what the vehicle actually requires.
What if my insurance estimate includes aftermarket parts?
Solesbee Collision uses OEM parts as part of our Factory Correct repair standard. If an insurance estimate includes aftermarket or other non-OEM parts, we'll identify the parts required under our repair approach and communicate the relevant repair information during the repair and claims process. Questions about what your insurance policy covers or what your carrier will pay should be confirmed with your insurance company.
What should I ask before choosing a collision repair shop?
Ask how the shop determines what your vehicle requires, whether applicable manufacturer repair procedures will be followed, what parts will be used, how scanning and calibration requirements are handled, and what documentation you'll receive after the repair. The goal is to understand not only what will be repaired, but how the shop knows the repair was performed correctly.
Will choosing Solesbee affect what I pay out of pocket?
Your out-of-pocket cost can depend on your deductible, insurance coverage, claim decisions, and the repair requirements for your vehicle. Solesbee can explain the repair-related portion of the process and communicate relevant repair information when insurance is involved. Questions about coverage, deductibles, or what your policy will pay should be confirmed with your insurance carrier.

OEM Certification & Parts
What does "OEM-Certified" actually mean?
OEM certification means a collision repair facility has met requirements established by a vehicle manufacturer for participation in its certified repair program. Depending on the manufacturer, those requirements can include specialized technician training, tools, equipment, facility capabilities, repair procedures, and ongoing program standards. Solesbee Collision participates in multiple manufacturer-certified repair programs so our team can repair those vehicles according to the applicable manufacturer requirements.
Which brands are you certified to repair?
Solesbee Collision participates in multiple manufacturer-certified repair programs across EV and non-EV brands, including Lexus, and maintains I-CAR Gold Class recognition. Because manufacturer programs and certifications can change over time, visit our OEM Certifications page for our current certification list.
Why does Solesbee use OEM parts?
We use OEM parts because Factory Correct repair isn't simply about making a replacement part fit. OEM parts are designed for the specific vehicle and work within a larger system that can involve materials, attachment methods, corrosion protection, electronics, sensors, fit, and other manufacturer requirements. Using OEM parts keeps our repair approach aligned with the vehicle manufacturer's specifications rather than substituting a different parts standard.
04
Repair Process
What are the steps in a collision repair?
A simple way to think about the Solesbee process is: Inspect. Document. Repair. Verify. We evaluate the damage, develop the appropriate repair plan, document relevant findings and procedures, perform the repair using OEM parts and applicable manufacturer procedures, and verify the completed work. Depending on the vehicle and damage, the process may also include disassembly, diagnostic scanning, structural measurement, refinishing, ADAS calibration, or other required operations.
Will I receive documentation of what was actually done?
Yes. Before-and-after repair documentation is part of the Solesbee standard. Your repair documentation provides a record of the vehicle and the work performed, with additional repair-specific documentation — such as scan or calibration information — provided when applicable. Our goal is to give you more than a finished vehicle; we want you to have documentation behind the repair.
Why might my vehicle need to be disassembled before the repair plan is finalized?
Some collision damage can be hidden behind panels, bumpers, trim, or other components. When appropriate, disassembly gives our technicians access to affected areas that couldn't be fully evaluated during the initial inspection. If additional damage or repair requirements are discovered, those findings can then be documented and incorporated into the repair plan.
05
Safety & Calibration
What is ADAS calibration, and how do I know if my vehicle needs it?
Many modern vehicles use cameras, radar, sensors, and other components to support Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including features such as lane assistance, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking. Certain collision repairs, component replacements, windshield work, alignment changes, or other repair operations may require calibration according to the vehicle manufacturer's procedures. Solesbee evaluates the specific vehicle and repair requirements to determine when calibration is required and performs applicable calibrations as part of our repair process.
Why is required calibration important?
Driver-assistance systems depend on cameras, radar, sensors, and related components operating within specified parameters. If a required calibration isn't performed correctly, an affected system may not operate as the manufacturer intended. That's why Solesbee identifies applicable calibration requirements and performs the required calibration according to the procedures for the specific vehicle and repair.

Scheduling & Timing
How do I get started after an accident?
Contact Solesbee Collision and tell us what happened. We'll help determine the appropriate next step for evaluating your vehicle, explain what the collision repair process may involve, and let you know what information we need from you. If insurance is involved, we can also help with repair-related communication and documentation as the process moves forward.
Can I get a second opinion if I've already received an estimate?
Yes. If you already have an estimate but still have questions about the damage or proposed repair, Solesbee can evaluate the available information and help you understand the repair requirements. A second opinion can be especially useful when there are questions involving structural damage, OEM parts, manufacturer procedures, scanning, calibration, or other safety-related operations.
